About the Artist
Here is a little bit of background about TK Customs.
It all started back in 1985 when I was employed by a neighbor to sweep floors and clean up for a local body shop. It was there that I began to learn the trade of automotive refinishing. I started as a painter's helper and progressed from there to learn how to refinish automobiles. The first complete paint job that I did on my own was a Mercedes, I was just a little nervous!
I have always had a love of art and took many art classes in high school entering many competitions along the way. I then went on to study Graphic Design at Salt Lake Community College in 1988. I also have a love of motorcycles, especially motocross. The combination of these two interests and my background with automotive refinishing led me to where I am today, custom painting motorcycles, helmets, and whatever else. I started airbrushing in 1989 and taught myself through a lot of trial and error. In fact after I painted my first helmet I swore that I would never paint another one. As you can tell, things worked out differently.
Up until October 2007 I was employed full time as a Manufacturing Engineer for a medical device manufacturing company and did paint work after hours. It was a lot of work to do both so I decided that I would dedicate my time to my true passion for art and custom paintwork. Thank you to all of those that have helped and supported me in this decision.
